Insomnia - Under Construction, Canada
"Insomnia - Under-Construction" is a series of photos taken during Photographer's month-long journey within the territory of Canada as a part of his first-ever trip to Northern America. The pictures unveil an architectural collision between the overpowering fast-development of modern cities and a small-town style of living registered from the outsider’s perspective. Coming from a post-communistic Poland, the author acknowledges the presence and appreciates the uniqueness of ordinary objects while keeping all human shapes completely absent. Simplicity and geometric sterility of architectural elements like walls, fences or road lines are also intended and play an overwhelming part in the author's artistic choices. In Photographer’s lens declaration of being "Under-Construction'" stays relevant, both in a literal and figurative meaning, as a description of the country that goes through a mechanism of both architectural and social changes, proving that development of a diverse and multicultural society is a visible process, sometimes riddled with obstacles. Each photo from this series is available in edition of 5 + 1GP collector prints in two different sizes. 150/100cm 60/40cm To buy this work please contact: info@tomekalbin.com
